Joe Polen is a skilled executive serving in high-level IT, compliance, and security roles in the energy sector since 1995.  In his roles as Executive Director of Security and Engagement with MISO and National Director of NERC Compliance with Avangrid (formerly Iberdrola), he had responsibility in the strategic development, operations, and management of corporate physical, information, personnel, and cybersecurity policy, as well as business continuity initiatives. He was responsible for national programs with NERC compliance and security as well as chaired the internal stakeholder workgroups assigned with NERC-CIP regulatory compliance at MISO as well as the following; Security Working Group for MRO, NERC’s SWG (within RSTC), former CIPC Executive Member(NERC), and the WICF in the WECC region.
