Eric Scott is a skilled business leader in regulatory, operations, compliance, risk, IT, security, internal controls, and governance since 2000. Within the power and utility business he has extensive cross-functional operational expertise having worked many years across generation, transmission, and distribution as well as wholesale power marketing and retail energy organizations. Eric’s practice focuses on executive strategy, regulatory advisory, governance, security, internal controls, risk and compliance.
Eric spent two years at Lee County Electric Cooperative as the Director Administrative Services. In this role he helped implement an enterprise risk management program, an overall compliance and ethics program which included FERC/NERC compliance, regulatory rate files, and a crisis management plan.
Eric joined Lee County Electric Cooperative after 11 years at Ameren Corporation working across every division. He served for many years as both an enterprise business management lead for governance, compliance, and for FERC and NERC (operations and cyber/security) regulatory/enforcement/compliance program matters as well as cyber and physical security. He also participated in the cost recovery filings to the Public Service Commissions for required compliance and cybersecurity projects for both Missouri and Illinois.
Prior to joining Ameren, Eric worked at Associated Electric Cooperative as an IT Compliance Coordinator where he helped implement their NERC CIP compliance program, SOX compliance program, and HIPAA compliance program.
Eric has also served as an industry representative for several years on various regulatory compliance and cyber security standards coordination committees and boards. With extensive expertise in the utility sector with regulatory and technical knowledge across all operational and security activities he is uniquely positioned to support the development of cross-functional risk-based governance, risk, and compliance solutions for our clients. Further Eric has experience with a small cooperative or a large IOU utility with the ability to create risk and scalable programs to meet client’s needs.
