Brian Haney is an accomplished engineering professional with a strong technical background, extensive experience and a deep understanding of the electrical utility industry since 1986. He has experience in transmission system planning, operations, and has assisted in the creation, evaluation, and implementation of NERC reliability and Operations and Planning (O&P) compliance programs for electric generation and transmission entities. During his fourteen (14) years at Pacific Gas and Electric Company Brian trained and supervised area planners for all of PG&E’s planning areas, performed power flow and stability studies, participated in the development of methodologies for losses, congestion management, ancillary services and market power studies as part of California’s electric utility restructuring. Brian later worked for Utility System Efficiencies, Inc. (USE) where he completed a wide range of projects such as System Impact Studies, power flow analysis, dynamic analysis, magnetic field analysis, and NERC reliability compliance. Brian has served as an audit resource and subject matter expert for NERC audits since 2007, first in USE’s NERC compliance group before later transferring to Archer.
